Covid-19: Self help group in Pampore making masks for Public
Pulwama: With the rising cases of Covid-19 and shortage of protection kits including masks, a self help group in Pampore is making masks and distributing them among the general public besides health department officials.
Head of the group, Safeena Jan said that there was shortage of masks in Jammu and Kashmir and they decided to make masks which are accordingly distributed among medicos and general Public.
“We brought material on our own and are voluntarily making these masks free of cost,” she said, adding that it is a small effort but it can go a long way to ensure that everyone among us is getting involved in fighting the pandemic.
“We are thankful to doctors, medicos, employees of ICDS department, Asha workers and Municipal workers who are working tirelessly in order to stop the spread of covid-19 and now it is our responsibility to help them and provide them protection kits,” she added.
“Around one dozen ladies of our locality in Pampore have made over two thousands masks that have been distributed among medicos, workers and public,” she said, adding that our process of making more and more masks will continue till the pandemic will be over.
“Workers of different departments have been risking their lives for we people and it is our moral duty to help them and encourage them at this stage,” she said.
