Pulwama: At least five youths have gone missing in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district in last 40 day, among them few have already announced their  joining the militant ranks, sources said.

The missing youth have been identified as Tariq Ahmad Sheikh, Wakeel Ahmad Shah, Aadil Ahmad Bhat, Asif Majeed Dar and Shafat Ahmad Mir

Tariq Ahmad Sheikh (24) according to official sources went missing on 11 March and since then there are no reports available about his whereabouts.

Tariq a driver by profession and a school dropout is a resident of Dangerpora in Pulwama town, reports said.

Wakeel Ahmad Shah (21) son of Muzafar Ahmad Shah, a resident of Bangander Tral is missing since March 08. As per official sources, Wakeel too is a school dropout and was running a butchers shop in his locality before he went missing.

Aadil Ahmad Bhat (22) son of Ghulam Mohammed Bhat resident of Laroo Kakapora went missing on 16 March, witnesses said.

Aadil, who was perusing a bachelors degree at Government degree college Pulwama has already announced his joining the militant ranks as his photograph while welding gun has already gone viral on social media.

As per photograph, he has joined the banned outfit Lashkar e Toiba.

Asif Majeed Dar (24) resident of Dangarpora Mohalla in Kakapora went missing on 08 March.  As per official sources Asif is involved in Grenade attack on police station Kakapora that was carried out on 12 March.

They added that he was arrested in 2016 for stone pelting and was presently pursuing BCA and has left behind five brothers and one sister.

Shafat Ahmad Mir (24) resident of main town Tral according to official sources is missing since 18 March.

Shafat had completed his B-tech before he went missing, sources said.

A senior police official while confirming that these five individuals are missing from last one month said that there is every likelihood that they have joined militant ranks.
