Srinagar, Apr 11: The 34-year-old Kashmiri woman, who died due to Covid-19 at a hospital in Dubai on Friday afternoon, was laid to rest on Saturday.

Family sources said that the deceased was laid to rest in a local cemetery in Sharjah with only four family members including her husband, allowed to attend the funeral prayers.

The young woman was diagnosed as Corona positive on March 31 and since then she was treated in a local hospital in Sharjah.

The deceased hails from Nawab Bazar area of old city Srinagar and har paternal house is located in Bohri Kadal.

The young woman had done her Masters in Computer Applications and was living with her husband and three minor daughters in Dubai and later in Sharjah.

Her husband works for a telecom company in Sharjah.  

She has left behind a family of four, including three daughters, aged one, two and six years.

The deceased was the daughter of late Farooq Lone, a former producer at Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMMRC), University of Kashmir.

Notably, the family members of the deceased in Srinagar have urged people to pray for the departed soul at their homes and avoid visiting the residence in view of the prevailing situation due to Covid-19.
