SDM asks people to strictly adhere to preventive measures

KUPWARA: The Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Karnah, Dr. Bilal Mohiddin, has asked people of Tangdar to strictly adhere to the preventive measures during ongoing lockdown in view of COVID-19. He said no movement of people is being allowed to and from the Bagbella village which has been recently declared Red zone by Deputy Commissioner after 01 positive case of COVID19 was reported from the area. Moreover, movement of people has also been restricted in Gomal, Shamspora, Nachiyan, Hajinard villages which have been declared Buffer zones.
In order to limit the possibility for the spread of virus, SDM has directed the doctors to serve the patients at their residence in Red zone area for treatment of any ailment, if and when required.
It was informed that 1500 persons have been screened so far in the Sub Division to detect presence of the infection. In addition, 916 persons have been home quarantined and 12 persons are quarantined at GDC Tangdar. Besides, 07 suspect persons have been referred for medical test, 05 persons have been found negative, test of 01 suspected is awaited and 01 person has come out positive and is undergoing treatment at District Hospital, Kupwara.
The SDM also informed that adequate quantity of essential commodities has been stocked in the Sub Division in view of restrictions which include 1200 Qtls Rice, 1050 Qtls Aatta, 56000 liter Kerosene oil and 2100 LPG cylinders. He added that 10 trucks have been permitted for carrying supply of essential commodities on daily basis to the Sub Division.
Meanwhile, 30 ltrs of Kerosene oil have been distributed among 6 families of the Bagbella village, a Red zone area.
