Doctors in Hajin allege misbehavior by DDC Bandipora, announce strike
Hajin, Apr 9: As Covid-19 spreads rapidly throughout Kashmir, Doctors in Hajin block have gone on strike after DDC Bandipora allegedly misbehaved with their senior colleagues at Hajin on Thursday. The doctors alleged that they were abused by DDC Bandipora when he was on a visit to Hajin block.
Dr Muzafar Zargar, a doctor posted in the area said that it the second time that the DDC Bandipora misbehaved with the staff.
He said, despite medicos in Hajin Block working day and night during the present Covid-19 crisis, the health workers posted in the block are not the required cooperation from the district administration.
He said the entire medical staff of the block has decided to go for a strike till the issue is not resolved at the higher level.
They medicos also raised slogans against DDC Bandipora and demanded his immediate suspension forthwith.
“The disease is spreading throughout Kashmir during these days and we doctors and medical staff are working very hard to stop its spread. Despite this we are being mistreated,” the medicos alleged.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Shabaz Mirza, did not respond to repeated call to seek his comments about the issue.
When contacted Block medical Officer (BMO) Dr. Ajaz Hajin, said that he too is part of the protest and he will not comment further on the issue.
He said that the strike will not end until and unless the matter is taken up at the highest level and resolved. (KNO)
