Fighting coronavirus: Two Shopian students developed website to help admin fight COVID-19

Shopian: With an aim to helping out the administration to fight the COVID-19 scare, two computer science students have developed a website where persons can report their and others travel history.
The website also provides options for volunteers to register themselves and can be contacted whenever the administration needs them.
Abdul Rouf, B. Tech in Computer Science a resident of Gagren Shopian and Malik Shahid a resident of Krawoora Shopian have successfully developed the website and have got it registered as www.covid19shopian.in.
The duo claimed that they worked for about two weeks to develop the website and later handed over its control and operations to the administration to tide over the challenges faced while bracing up against the novel coranavirus scare in the district.
“We created the website with an aim to fight the Covid-19 and help trace those travelers who have been concealing travel history,” Abdul Rouf said.
He said that they have added options in the website where in people can register as volunteers who are willing to work with the administration in the crisis situation.
“People can check the website for details on how many people in the district are covid-19 positive patients, how many are suspects, how many are in home quarantine and how many are in hospital quarantine. Besides, that people can check the status of covid-19 designated hospitals in the district,” he added.
He further said that after handing over this website to district administration, we were contacted by divisional administration to design same kind of website for divisional level where we can upload information about every district.
