Allege sharing common washroom, eating cold food

Srinagar: At a time when civil and hospital administrations in Kashmir are making tall claims about the facilities and care being shown towards Covid-19 patients, most of these patients have been left on the mercy of God, particularly at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura.
Over 20 Covid-19 patients have been lodged in a single ward at SKIMS Soura and all sharing a common washroom.
The irony is that no a single official dares to visit these patients out of fear of getting infected,” said a relative of one of the Covid-19 patients lodged at SKIMS ward.
An entrepreneur Zubair Ahmed Wani had to reach out on social media to narrate his woes.
Wani tweeted on Monday night narrating the ordeal they have been facing.
“I have been tested positive for Covid-19 few days back, Alhamdullilah, I am doing well. We are 22 patients including a female sharing a common washroom, eating cold food, without proper bedding and no official dares to visit us at SKIMS,” Wani tweeted and tagged Government Spokesperson Rohit Kansal, District Development Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Chowdary, Srinagar Municipal Corporation Mayor Junaid Azim Matuu in his tweet.
His tweet generated a lot of discussion while netizens alleged administration of being callous toward the Covid-19 patients.
Rafiq Makhdoomi, a netizen wrote: “Seems as if tall claims of administration are falling short. A Covid-19 patient reports the inside story and Mayor-you keep clicking and posting along with your Deputy Mayor. Patients are suffering you are busy with photo shoots.” (KNT)
