Villagers in Kulgam beat Leopard to death

Kulgam: Villagers in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district beat a leopard to death with sticks after it attacked seven persons among which two were shifted to hospital in a critical condition.
Official sources said that a leopard emerged in Khudhanjipora village of Kulgam and attacked people on Thursday. Seven persons were injured in the attack while two among them identified as Abdul Hamid Dar and Muhammad Ashiq Naikoo, who were injured critically were shifted to a hospital.
Sources added that villagers assembled in large numbers and chased the leopard. The villagers reportedly beat the leopard to death with sticks.
A Wild Life Department official confirmed the incident saying the body of the leopard has been removed from the village. (KNT)
