Several people booked for violating lockdown orders

Srinagar: Authorities on Monday booked several people across Jammu and Kashmir for violating the government orders issued to ensure a lockdown.
Officials informed that 16 people from South Kashmir’s Shopian district were booked for defying the restrictions imposed by the administration on Monday.
In Achabal area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, one violator was booked for violating the government norms, officials said.
Similarly, eight businessmen who were found violating the government orders were also booked in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said.
In Baramulla district, police has booked 22 persons for violating the government orders, officials said, adding that a case was also registered against four among them.
In Sopore, 10 shopkeepers were also arrested by police for violating the government norms, adding that a case vide FIR number 51/2020 under section 188 was registered against them.
In Jammu region also, nearly three dozen people have been booked for violating the government orders.
They also informed that three youth who had organized a cricket match at Gani Memorial Stadium on Monday were also booked under FIR number 12/2020 under section 188, 270 IPC, adding that the organization of cricket match had resulted in large gathering at the stadium.
