Police lodges FIR against two persons for concealing travel history

Srinagar: Police in south Kashmir have lodged an FIR against two people who tried to conceal their travel history and escape the necessary quarantine.

A police spokesman said that two persons hailing from Awantipora area in south Kashmir have concealed their travel history in order to evade necessary quarantine process. He said that a case FIR No. 35/2020 u/s 188,270,271 IPC has been registered against them at Police Station Awantipora.

“The booked persons are students and have recently returned to village Charsoo and village Goripora of Awantipora with a travel history of Pakistan and Bangladesh. They have been sent to EDI Pampore to undergo necessary quarantine and further action under the FIR shall be initiated after their quarantine period is over,” the spokesman said.

The spokesman appealed the general public to cooperate with the administration and police in this unprecedented situation and proactively disclose their travel history.

People are also requested to inform Police Control Room if any person is found concealing their travel history, the spokesman added.
