Woman’s dead retrieved from Poonch river
Poonch: A dead body of a woman was recovered from a river in Poonch district on Saturday, police said.
Reports said that a police team immediately reached at Nagalishaib soon after being informed about the body lying in the area.
Confirming the incident, SHO Poonch Nishant Gupta said that the police party retrieved the body from the river at Nagalishaib area today morning.
The officer identified the deceased as Shahmim Akhter (42) wife of Mohammad Shafiq of Dhelera.
The body has been taken to a nearby hospital for medico legal formalities, he said.
In this connection, a case under section 174 Cr.PC was registered and further investigations initiated, he added. (GNS)
