Coronavirus scare: Isolation ward set up in Sopore hospital

Sopore: An isolation ward has been set up in Sopore hospital in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday.
In-charge of Isolation ward, Dr. Rudyana said that an isolation ward has been set up with the help of Directorate of Health Services. It will act as a quarantine facility.
She further said that the center has been created for screening and keeping suspected cases in quarantine.
“We have set up a 7-bed ward, which is fully equipped with all arrangements. Our staff is also trained to tackle the threat of deadly infection,” she said. She said that no suspected case has so far been reported from Sopore.
The government has instructed officials of health institutions to remain alert and keep their isolation wards ready to quarantine the affected persons across the Valley.
The health staff also held an awareness programme on Coronavirus at the hospital campus.
The programme was attended by number of peoples, patients, health workers and media personnel.
During the program, a detailed hands-on training on hygiene and control measures was provided to the participants.
Safety precautions like availability of face masks, hand sanitizers and disinfection of the venue was adopted at the meeting.
She also talked about epidemiology of the Coronavirus pandemic and gave detailed information, local hospital preparedness and hands-on training as how to prevent transmission of Coronavirus. BMO also advised people to maintain clean surroundings, localities and homes as well.
