Kulgam: The residents of Nowbugh village in far flung Kund belt of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Thursday expressed their resentment against the Public Health Engineering department (PHE) division Qazigund for failing to repair the water supply pipeline in the area.
Locals said that water supply pipeline was laid in the area twenty years back and it has developed leakage at several places now, but authorities are not bothered to repair the same.
They added that due to leakage of pipes, most of the water gets wasted and this water has damaged the main road at many places as well.
“We approached to the higher ups several times but unfortunately nothing has been done so far,” they said adding that PHE department has failed to look into the suffering of people
Locals appealed the concerned district development commissioner and higher ups of concerned department to redress their genuine grievance at an earliest.
On contacting Assistant Executive Engineer PHE, SubDivision Qazigund, Ghulam Nabi Bhat, he said that nobody has informed him about this issue so far.
“Wherever the pipeline is damaged, it will be repaired at an earliest, so that people may not suffer an more, he added.
