LG allocates 6 departments to Baseer Khan

Srinagar: A day after his appointment as one of the four advisors to Lt Governor G C Murmu, Baseer Ahmad Khan was assigned the charge of six different government departments.
The Lieutenant Governor directed that Baseer Khan shall exercise powers of the Minister in respect of Power Development, Rural Development & Panchayat Raj, Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, culture, tourism and floriculture.
K K Sharma, who along with Farooq Khan was appointed as advisors to the Lt Governor on November 14 last year, was allocated the charge of revenue, Planning, Development and monitoring, Industries and commerce, school education, higher education, technical education, and agriculture production and horticulture.
Retired IPS officer Farooq Khan got food, civil supplies and consumer affairs; ARI and trainings; cooperative; election; labour and employment; Haj and Auqaf; social welfare; tribal affairs; youth services and sports, the order read.
Advisor Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar was allotted health and medical education, public works (roads and buildings); PHE/I&FC, Transport, animal/ husbandry, an order issued by the GAD said.
“In supersession of the Government Order No. 78-JK(GAD) of 2020 dated 14.01.2020, Advisor Bhatnagar will advise the Lieutenant Governor on significant matters relating to Home Department. Coordinate activities of the police and Sports including the Terror Monitoring Group, Force Deployment, Intelligence Work, Preparedness for Law & Order, Operational Effectiveness, Counter
Cross Border Propaganda, Jails, FSL, Prosecution, Narcotics Control and POCSO Matters.”
In respect of other departments, the order said the papers related to the GAD, Home Department and Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) shall be submitted by the respective administrative secretaries through the chief secretary to the Lt Governor.
Papers related to the All India Services (IAS, IPS and IFS) shall be submitted by the respective administrative secretaries through the General Administration Department and the chief secretary for consideration of the Lt Governor.
