His involvement with Punjab militants being probed

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir tainted Police officer Davinder Singh, who was arrested for ferrying two Hizbul Mujahideen militants, was brought to Delhi on Saturday.
The Special Cell brought Davinder Singh to Delhi from Hira Nagar Jail in Jammu and Kashmir on a seven-day production warrant.
The Delhi Police had earlier filed an FIR under Section 120B of IPC. The FIR said that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab are being trained for carrying out militant activities.
The FIR also mentioned ‘D’ Company and Chhota Shakeel. According to the FIR, the Delhi Police Special Cell had received an input that the ‘D Company’ is funding to pro-Khalistan militant organizations in Punjab.
Under this very FIR Davinder Singh has been taken in custody by the special cell.
The Special Cell will interrogate Davinder Singh regarding the Khalistan angle, a senior police official in know of the details said.
Although Davinder Singh is not named in the FIR, but the Special Cell has some inputs on the basis of which the enquiry will be carried out and Davinder Singh will be questioned, he added.
Davinder Singh was later produced before Patiala House court. (KNT)
