Soldiers launch CASO in Sopore village

Srinagar: Government Forces on Monday launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in a village in North Kashmir after receiving inputs about the presence of militants, official sources said.
They said on a tip off about the presence of militants, army, Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a joint search operation at village Malmapan Pora Sopore village of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
All the exit points were sealed and house to house searches launched, they further said adding that additional forces were deployed in the adjacent area to prevent any law and order problem.
During the search operation, door to door searches were conducted and the identity cards of the people were checked.
Sources said that the operation was called off after no contact with any militant was established. (KNT)
