Militant killed in Shopian encounter
Shopian, Mar 09: A militant was killed in an ongoing encounter at Khawjapora Reban area in Zainapora belt of Shopian district.
A senior police official said that one militant has been killed in the operation while as the encounter is still underway.
An official said that on specific inputs about the presence of militant’s cordon and search Operation was launched by joint team of forces including Ist RR and shopian police in the area
As forces zeroed towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces which was retaliated triggering an encounter, he said
Two to three militants are believed to be trapped and operation was under way when this report was filled. (with inputs from KNO)
