Police solves blind murder case of trucker in 48 hours

Kulgam: Police has solved the blind murder case of a driver in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district and arrested the accused from Jammu. Both the deceased and the accused are from Jammu.
Pertinently, police found the dead body of an oil-tanker driver in Khudwani area of Kulgam in mysterious circumstances on Wednesday inside the vehicle. The deceased was identified as Partap Singh son of Onkar Singh of Jajarkotli, Jammu.
Police accordingly registered a murder case and started investigation after it constituted a Special Investing Team.
A police spokesman said that during the course of investigation, it zeroed-in on a suspect, identified as Sukhdev Singh son of Keer Singh of Jammu district. The accused was arrested from Anandnagar Jammu with the help of Jammu police.
During the interrogation, the accused disclosed that he killed the trucker to grab his money.
“The accused disclosed that he came to Qazigund on March 2, this month and enticed the deceased to sell the Kerosene oil loaded in his tanker to a private person known to the accused. The fuel was sold for Rs. 7.70 lakh and the said amount was transferred to the account of accused on March 3. The accused conceived a plan to murder the victim with the intention of grabbing the whole amount which had already been transferred to bank account of the accused. After killing him with a stone and knife, the accused fled to Anand Nagar, Jammu, where he is putting up,” the spokesman said
He said that further investigation in the case is going on.
