DGP sanctions scholarships for wards of slain policemen

JAMMU: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh sanctioned scholarship of over 2 lakhs in favour of 25 such school going children whose parents were part of the police force and were killed while on duty.

The scholarship of rupees 2.30 lakh for the wards of slain policemen has been sanctioned out of Central Police Education Fund vide Police headquarters order No. 941 of 2020, a police spokesman said.

Under this order, rupees 10 thousand each have been sanctioned in favour of twelve wards pursuing education from class 11th to Graduation. Rupees 12 thousands each has been sanctioned for seven wards pursuing different technical courses/ degrees.

Similarly, rupees six thousand each has been sanctioned in favour of four such wards studying from 6th to 10th class. Rupees two thousand four hundred has been sanctioned in favour of two wards studying in primary class.
