Massive blaze destroys five houses in old city
Srinagar: At least five residential houses were gutted in Bagi Sunder Payeen area of Chattabal in Srinagar on Tuesday morning, officials said.
Five families were rendered homeless after the massive blaze broke out from one of the residential houses there.
The fire spread to four other houses, leaving them completely damaged, locals said.
They said that the residential houses belonged to Shakil Ahmad Wani, son of Ghulam Rasool Wani, Javid Ahmad Wani, son of Ghulam Ahmad Wani, Khazir Muhammad Wani, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Wani, Muhammad Usman Wani, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Wani were destroyed in the blaze.
Soon after the fire broke out, the fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the fire with the help of locals.
The locals later appealed the district administration to rehabilitate the fire affected families. (KNO)
