Srinagar: Kashmir University is yet to conduct examination for the scores of students from Banihal area who had missed their examination paper in the last week of December last year due to heavy snowfall.

These students mostly females were supposed to appear in the 5th semester Botany paper but failed to make it up to the examination centres at Degree College Anantnag as trains didn’t chug on the tracks due to heavy snowfall in Qazigund area.

“We were unable to reach the examination centres due to snowfall as traffic and trains didn’t ply on that day. Authorities at Kashmir University instead of postponing the examination paper conducted the same, thus ignoring those who lived in far flung areas,” said Shugufta, a victim.

The students said that they are frustrated and disappointed. They appealed Kashmir University to look into the matter and save their career.

When contacted Controller Examination said that Varsity will take a decision soon in this regard. (KNT)
