Six residential houses collapse due to landslides in Kreeri village

Sopore: At least six residential houses have collapsed due landslides in Sheikhpora area of Kreeri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district during last Saturday night, officials said.
The houses developed cracks as soon as landslides were reported ion the area during the night on Saturday.
Locals said that during midnight there was a rumbling noise which left several houses damaged as they developed cracks making them unfit for use.
“Fortunately there was no loss of life or injury as most of the family members rushed out of the houses,” said a local resident.
He said that the damaged houses belong to Syed Abdul Hameed Bukhari, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh, Syed Imtiyaz Bukhari, Syed Ashraf Bukhari and Khursheed Ahmed Bukhari.
The residents blamed that no one from administration has not bothered to visit the area and assertain the reasons for the landslide leading to damage to the houses.
The residents appealed the Lt Guv and senior officials of Baramulla administration to provide adequate compensation to the affected families.
