NC leader Akhoon meets Farooq Abdullah
Srinagar: National Conference face from Ladakh and former Minister Qamar Ali Akhoon Friday met incarcerated party president Dr Farooq Abdullah, reports said.
Abdullah is facing detention under Public Safety Act. He was arrested after Government of India abrogated Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources said that both the leaders had a meeting on the current political situation for over an hour.
Qamar Ali Akhoon later said that he had gone to meet Dr Farooq Abdullah to have deliberations on the political future of Kargil.
He said its unfortunate the Kargil has become a part of UT without a legislature.
“We will fight for the statehood,” he said. (KNT)
