Police detains five more suspects for questioning

Kulgam: Police have detained five more suspects in connection with the killing of five non-local labourers in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, an official said Monday.
With the arrest of these five persons, police have so for detained 15 suspected in the district.
An official disclosed that after the killing of five non-local labourers from West Bengal in Katarsoo village of Kulgam, Police have detained 15 suspects from different areas of the district so for.
Five migrant labourers from West Bengal identified as Kamaruddin Sheikh, Mursalain Sheikh, Rafiq-ul- Sheikh, Rafiq Sheikh, Nayeemuddin were shot dead by unknown gunmen in Kulgam district last week. The sixth labourer Zahooruddin was critically injured and is undergoing treatment in a hospital.
All the victims hailed from Murshidabad district of West Bengal.
The official said that suspects are being questioned. The attack happened at a time when a delegation of parliamentarians belonging to far-right wings to assess the emerging situation after the abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status under Article 370 of the Constitution. (KNT)
