Hindi TV news channel ‘Aaj Tak’ had organized a debate ‘Hala Bol’ in open at picturesque Zero Bridge in which Ravinder Raina and others including PDP leader Javaid Beigh, Farooq Renzu and others were participating. The programme was anchored by Anjana Om Kashap.
Eyewitnesses said that during the debate there was heated exchange of words between Javiad Beigh and Ravinder Raina. Ravinder Raina indulged in Pakistan bashing while Beigh alleged that BJP forgot the sacrifices rendered by those political workers in Kashmir who were killed by militants.
Notably, scores of spectators had turned up to watch the show. Witnesses added that shortly after the culmination of the debate, many youths confronted the BJP JK President Ravinder Raina and heckled him.
“A youth asked him not to pollute Kashmir and leave immediately. Another agitated youth virtually tried to abuse him. His security guards however whisked him away and saved him from facing the wrath of the crowd.” (KNT)
