Advisor Khan pitches for collective efforts towards wellbeing of specially-abled children

Jammu: Emphasizing the need of collective efforts towards safety and well being of specially-abled children, Advisor to Governor Farooq Khan, today exhorted for adopting an integrated approach to help enable these children learn and function intellectually, physically and socially.
Advisor was speaking at a talent show organized by Muskan Charitable Trust at Teachers Bhawan here today in which the differently abled children presented amazing performances.
Chairman of the trust, Sandeep Mehra, Indian National Executive SAKSHAM, Abhay Kumar Gupta, SP South Vinay Sharma, members of the organizations and students were present on the occasion.
The Advisor said that the performances by these children are the greatest example of their intellectual, creative and latent ability that needs to be harnessed for their overall development enabling them become equal stakeholder in the societal transformation. He said that building a nurturing environment for these children is need of the hour to ensure that they grow in a caring and supportive community. “This will give them greater chances of realizing their full potential to lead an independent life”, he added.
Khan appreciated the organization for its efforts towards promoting the interests of these specially-abled children and expressed hope that the institution would continue its noble services with the same spirit. He assured the management that efforts will be made to provide all possible help to them to further streamline their functioning.
About 50 artists drawn from different states, cultural societies, institutions, civil societies performed in the event.
