Jammu Smart City project: CEO discusses implementation of first phase

JAMMU: Chief Executive Officer, Jammu Smart City Project (Deputy Commissioner) Sushma Chauhan today chaired a meeting of departments associated with the Jammu smart city project to discuss the execution of first phase components.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Tejinder Singh, SSP Traffic Joginder Singh, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Pankaj Magotra, Engineers of PWD, PDD, PHE, I&FC, UEED and Senior Team of PMC namely Rodic Consultants Pvt. Ltd. were present in the meeting.
The team of consultant agency gave a detailed presentation on five major components of Smart City project envisaged for beautification and to improve traffic management in the city.
The 5 projects discussed include vertical Garden from Dogra Chowk to KC Chowk, improvement of various Junctions, Construction of Public Toilets, Way Finding Signage and Intelligent Traffic Management System.
It was informed that the DPRs of the said projects have already been formulated and are ready for Tendering.
The CEO instructed to conduct a Joint survey by the concerned departments within a weeks’ time to assertion the ground practicability of projects at the gross execution level so that the implementation is started at the earliest.
The CEO directed the concerned agency to finish the procedure within a fortnight.
Meanwhile, she directed for taking up the DPR formulation of the next series of shortlisted projects viz Solid Waste Management System, Energy Efficient Government Offices, Smart Roads, Water Harvesting, GIS based property assessment system and identification of Multi Level Car parking. He instructed the PMC to finish the feasibility study as well as detailed project report in 15 days.
The CEO also instructed all the concerned stakeholders to review the progress made so far and give their valuable suggestions and concerns at an earliest so that the same can be incorporated in the revised tender documents.
She also instructed PMC to work in coordination with all the stakeholders before taking up any project. She instructed to take in consideration all the points / concerns raised by them for a particular project in the Detailed Project Report as well as Tender document.
