Srinagar: The two member Parliaments from National Conference (NC) Tuesday said that they were not allowed to meet their incarcerated leaders at subsidiary jail here in Srinagar.
A large number of National Conference leaders including Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah are facing detention after Government of India abrogated Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
Both members of Parliament, HasnainMasoodi and Muhammad Akbar Lone alleged that Deputy Commissioner Srinagar has gone into hiding and he is not responding to their repeated phone calls.
They said that DC Srinagar was not available at his residence as well and it is really a sorry state of affairs.
Lone said that security personnel guarding the gate at SKICC didn’t permit him to enter into the premises and informed him that they have clear directions from authorities not to allow any member Parliament inside the subsidiary jail.
Meanwhile, sources said that authorities have decided to allow the relatives and family members of incarcerated leaders to meet them on Wednesday and Saturday. (KNT)
