Senior PC Leader Akram Sofi joins INC
Uri: Senior Congress Leader and Former Minister Taj Mohi U Din has urged the people to “strengthen the Congress Party for better future of the state”.
In a statement, Taj said that Congress Party was the “only unifying force which stands guarantee to peace and stability”.
He was addressing a party gathering at Trinkanjan in Uri where he also welcoming senior PC Leader Akram Sofi into party fold.
As per the statement, Sofi joined Congress “along with hundreds of supporters”.
Taj urged the people not to come under “hollow and baseless slogans of opportunist political parties”, who, as per him, were “not well versed the topography of Jammu and Kashmir State and arre claiming to represent the people”.
He cautioned the people about the “designs of forces which are inimical to pace and stability”.’
Congress party, he said, was “committed to the cause of serving people and it will continue to serve the people of State to the best of its ability”.
