Zonal Education Office Sopore headless for a month, teachers, students suffer
Sopore: Zonal Education Office Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district is headless for the past one month, which is adversely affecting the academics and employees of the zone.
In absence of an administrative head, the routine administrative works of the zone had come to a “standstill”, officials told ‘Kashmir Vision’.
“For a single signature we have to visit Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Sopore, whose Principal Suriya Jabeen has been given the additional charge of ZEO Sopore,” an official said.
The absence of a full time ZEO has also affected the functioning of the Zonal Education Office, an official said.
He alleged that nobody was paying heed over the matter.
A School Education Department insider said that the vacant post had “exposed the non-seriousness of the department in filling the key positions which play an important role on the ground level in the department”.
Chief Education Officer Baramulla G M Lone has said that the post will be filled soon.
