‘All Party Meeting should be called in Delhi over chaos in Kashmir’

Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Awami National Conference (ANC) Senior Vice President Muzzafar Shah has proposed an All Party Meeting in Delhi over an uncertainty in Jammu and Kashmir over Article 35- A and Article 370.
In a statement, Shah said that the All Party meet should seek “clarifications from the present rulers of the country as to what they want from the people of the state and in which direction they are leading the state of Jammu and Kashmir into”.
He said that India’s secular Constitution was “under threat”.
Shah said that the additional deployment of forces to Kashmir and the statements being regularly made by political leaders had “created chaos and anxiety over the Article 35 A in the state of Jammu and Kashmir”.
He said the dates of the all party meeting to be held at New Delhi will be announced immediately after the proposed All party meeting to be held in Srinagar.
Shah further stated that the secular character of India and communal harmony of the country was being “demolished by some communal and fascist forces hell bent upon dividing the Indian secular fabric into pieces”.
“These elements are treating themselves as Custodians of the Law & Constitution of this country,” he added.
Shah said that a “new proverb of Hindutva is also being propagated shamelessly throughout the country”.
“The majority and the serious sections of our society need to come forward and stop this menace and the government of India should act against such persons,” Shah added.
He said that ANC and JKCSCC members along with NC,CPI(M),PDP and Ex MP Tariq Karra were seeking dismissal of the petitions before the Supreme Court Of India against Article 35A & Article 370 and were “eagerly awaiting the outcome of the petitions filed”.
Shah also welcomed the amalgamation of 12 associations in Jammu and appreciated their statement including the statement from 300 members of the Jammu Bar Association over Article 35 A.
Their unison is the outcome of ANC and JKCSCC outreach being conducted since the last one year, Shah said.
