Woman killed amid LoC flare up in Gurez sector

Bandipora, July 31 : A woman was killed in alleged shelling by Pakistan along the line of control in Bagtore sector of Gurez area in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
An Senior official said that a woman identified as Rahmie Bano wife of Abdul Ahad Bhat,(35) of Dassi Bagtore was hit by a splinter resulting into her critical injuries.
“She was rushed to Community Health Centre where the doctors referred her to SMHS hospital in Srinagar where she succumbed to her injuries,” the official added.
An official said that an employee of health department also sustained injuries due to cross border firing.
He was identified as Manzoor Ahmad.
India and Pakistan have been engaged in heavy exchange of fire and mortar along the Line of Control and International border in north Kashmir districts.
Earlier, Pakistan Army violated ceasefire and resorted to unprovoked shelling and firing on LoC in the Tangdar sector of Kupwara district besides, Rajouri area in Jammu division. (with inputs from KNO)
