Srinagar: State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has recommended to the Jammu and Kashmir government to register a case against a Patwari for his official ‘misconduct’.
Member SHRC, Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal while disposing of a complaint, recommended to the government for registration of FIR against Patwari Abdul Rashid Wani and also take action “suitably and administratively for his official misconduct” by paying only Rs 50,000/- against the sanctioned ex-gratia relief amount of Rs one lakh to the kin of the victim.
As per a local news agency, the SHRC compared the accused Patwari to “snakes that eat the lawful share of the NOKs of the persons who are victims of the militancy.”
It also recommended to Deputy Commissioner Kupwara to extend benefits of SRO-43 in favour of the victim family.
