Police arrest drug peddlers in Sopore, Srinagar

Srinagar: Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested three drug peddlers in Srinagar and Sopore areas, a police spokesman said here.
He said that two drug peddlers were arrested at a checkpoint and seized contraband substance from their possession.
Officers at a checkpoint established at Boulchpora Soura, arrested two drug peddlers identified as Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh son of Ali Mohammad Sheikh resident of Alamgari Bazar and Ayaz Ahmad Parah son of Javid Hussain Parah resident of Bemina.
They have been shifted to Police Station Soura where they remain in custody. Contraband substance including Spasmoproxyvon capsules have been seized from their possession by the officers, the spokesman added.
He said that a case FIR No. 59/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigations have been initiated.
In another such action police arrested a drug peddler in Sopore who was evading his arrest from a long time.
Muzafar Ahmad Shah son of Mohammad Sultan Shah resident of Adipora Sopore town, was involved in drug peddling case FIR NO. 112/2019 U/S 8/22 NDPS act of Police Station Sopore in which huge consignment of drugs (Spasmoproxyvon capsules) were seized from his possession, the spokesman added.
