As per the party statement, the locals “expressed their anxiety at slow pace of work on the flyovers of Ramban and Banihal”.
It alleged that the local youth were being “denied first right of working as labourers by the executing agencies even as almost their entire prime land holdings of around 1300 Kanals have been acquired by the government for the Banihal-Qazigund road tunnels”.
Kamal said that they will approach the governor led administration “with the strong request of engaging local youth in all state and union government projects in the area including the prestigious Katra- Kashmir railway”.
He impressed upon party workers to remain “steadfast and ensure victory of National Conference in the coming election to defeat the forces that are inimical to the growth and prosperity of the people of J&K and enemies of peace and tranquility between India and Pakistan.
He asked them to “encourage protagonists of resolution of the Kashmir issue languishing between India and Pakistan since over seven decades and being the oldest dispute on the agenda of the UN Security Council”.
