PDD ‘denying’ info under RTI Act for over a year
Kupwara: Power Department Division Kupwara has failed to divulge information sought in the application, which was filed over a year ago, an activist has alleged.
Wasim Majnoon Mir, a local RTI activist said he had filed a RTI application on March 1 last year to Power Department Division Kupwara seeking expenditure of funds, details of employees and supply orders in Kupwara from 2015 till date.
“But the concerned Power Department has failed to provide information within time period, he said RTI, adding, “The delay itself indicates that there is something wrong in the Division Kupwara about funds.”
The activist has appealed Governor Satya Pal Malik to intervene in the matter and demanded strict action against Power Department for not providing information under the state RTI Act 2009.
