Minor girl drowns in Budgam
Srinagar, July 28: A 7-year-old girl drowned in nallah Sukhnag of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Saturday evening.
Reports said that the girl identified as Muskan Jan daughter of Bilal Ahmad Lone of Latina in Beerwah, slipped into the nallah while crossing a makeshift bridge over it.
After persistent efforts by locals the body was fished out near Larbal area of the district.
Meanwhile, locals alleged that the administration is playing with their lives of the local population.
According to the locals, they have over the time approached district administration on several occasions for construction of a concrete bridge over the nallah but to their dismay nothing has been done yet. They are playing with our lives as this is second incident in the last three months and who knows what is in store for us, they said.
Urging the Governor-led administration to take their issue into consideration they said that, We hope that Governor will take the issue into consideration to prevent any such tragedy in future. (GNS)
