‘Continuous Medical Education Program’ held at SKIMS

Srinagar: A one day ‘Continuous Medical Education Program’ was organised in auditorium of Sheri- Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) on Friday.’
The program had two scientific sessions on ‘Update on Material Management’ and ‘Patient Safety’.
In the first session, V K Jain, former National President of IIMM deliberated on ‘Effective Supply Chain Management and Contract Management’.
M K Bhardwaj, Chairman Board of Studies IIMM delivered a presentation on ‘Economical Purchasing management’.
Next followed a panel discussion on ‘Challenges in Procurement process in Public Sector Hospitals’ led by Prof Dr Farooq Jan and in which V K Jain, Dr Samina Mufti, senior MMOs Manzoor Ahmad, Imran Gazi and Mr Umar participated as panelists.
The second session comprised of deliberation on ‘Patient Safety-A wake up Call’ delivered by Dr Nirupam Madan, senior faculty member at the Department of Hospital Administration, AIIMS, New Delhi.
Among the audience on the occasion were the faculty of SKIMS, Resident Doctors, nurses, officers from Materials Management and Engineering Departments.
The two scientific sesssions updated the participants’ knowledge and awareness of patient safety. The program ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr Shahnawaz, senior Resident Hospital Administration.
At the outset, Dr Samina Mufti, Organising Secretary welcomed the faculty and participants from Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM) and All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
Dr Bazilla, resident Hospital Administration conducted the proceedings of the event.
