Srinagar: The authorities in Kashmir University (KU) have warned the college teachers of administrative action for delayed submission of practical award sheet of undergraduate students appearing in the exams.
In a letter to all degree college principals, the KU administration has stated that the formal deceleration of the result of 2018 batch first semester and backlog 2016 batch was delayed due to the laxity of college principals in submitting the internal award sheets of the students.
“The result status of UG Ist semeter, (Regular Batch – 2018) and (Backlog Batch – 2016) is available on the Kashmir University website. The Principals of the degree colleges were time and again requested to submit the pending practical awards and absentee list of the students enrolled in their colleges,” reads the letter issued by the controller examination department of the varsity.
The letter states that in spite of the constant reminders, some principal have not submitted practical awards and absentee list of the students which has resulted in the delay in the formal declaration of the result.
“All those principals who have not yet submitted practical awards/absentee list are once again requested to submit them within five days upto 31st of July 2019, failing which no award will be accepted after the declaration of the result,” the letter reads.
This is not the first time when the announcement of results for under graduate students has got delayed due to the non-seriousness of the college authorities. Earlier, KU administration had issued several notices to the college authorities for delaying submission of internal practical award sheets.
Even, the laxity of college authorities results in discrepancies in the results of semester exams.
Meanwhile, the controller examination in his fresh letter has stated that any award submitted after the declaration of the result will be forwarded to the higher education department for administrative action against the concerned teacher.
“College teachers have become habitual of delaying the compilation of internal practical award sheets and its submission to KU due to which the formal announcement of results gets delayed unnecessarily,” a KU official said.
He said the KU had earlier also directed the permanent faculty members of the colleges not to engage the contractual staff for compilation or submission of award sheets.
“The permanent faculty members should do it themselves in order to maintain the seriousness of the exams,” the KU official said.
