DGP sanctions over Rs 4 lakh welfare relief to retired, NOKs of deceased personnel

SRINAGAR: DGP, J&K, Dilbag Singh has sanctioned welfare relief of Rs 4.84 lakh in favour of retired and next of kin of the deceased personnel.
A police statement said that the amount had been sanctioned in favour of 29 retired police personnel and Next of Kins (NoKs) of 11 deceased personnel out of Retired Policemen Welfare Fund.
The welfare relief has been sanctioned for the retired personnel and NOKs of deceased personnel has been sanctioned to meet the expenses including self treatment, treatment of spouse or children, repairs of house and marriage of daughters.
While Rs 3.16 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of twenty five retired personnel and NOKs of deceased personnel for self treatment and treatment of dependents suffering from different kind of diseases, the statement said that Rs 1.33 lakh had been sanctioned in favour of twelve families to meet the expenses of their daughters’ marriage.
Monetary help to three persons, who were in distress, has also been provided to meet their expenses of urgent nature, it added.
The statement said that special cells had been constituted for the welfare of retired police personnel and their families.
Each Assistance Cell is supervised by a gazetted officer with one non-gazetted officer and two lower subordinates as its members, as per the statement.
