Initiate inquiry into irresponsible behavior of Salim Pandit: KWJA urges KPC
Srinagar: Kashmir Working Journalist Association (KWJA) has urged KPC to initiate inquiry into ‘irresponsible behavior of its member M Salim Pandit’ who had termed the recently elected journalists representative body as ‘Jihadi journalists’ in his report in Times of India .
“M Salim Pandit is no stranger to controversies, slander and whimsical allegations mostly based on his personal animosities and fantasies,” KWJA said in a statement.
They said that Pandit is taking shelter in unnamed sources to defame fellow journalists and journalistic institutions in Kashmir, branding them as creations and proxies of Pakistan based agencies.
“Ironically the author is trying to cast aspersions on Kashmir Press Club even though he had been appointed the president of its first (ad hoc) managing body, with the support of Kashmir Editors Guild,” they said.
“KWJA urges the Kashmir Press Club to initiate an inquiry into the irresponsible behavior of its member M Salim Pandit with the aim to seek answers from him for his irresponsible behavior, so that a discipline is maintained in the club,” they demanded.
