Speed up investigation in Kupwara minor boy’s murder: Er Rasheed to CB

Kupwara: AIP President Tuesday sought justice for 8-year old Umer Farooq, who was brutally murdered after being kidnapped from his native village in Gulgam Kupwara last year.
Rasheed also asked CB to take the case to its logical end.
Speaking at a function at Gulgam organized to pay tributes to Umer on his first death anniversary, Rasheed asked for a thorough introspection in the society to get rid of criminal elements.
While it was encouraging that sources within crime branch claim to have reached very close to the culprits, Rasheed asked police to avoid further delay in the case.
“Crime branch must come out with its findings and take the investigation of the barbaric incident to its logical end so that trial in a fast track court is initiated,” he said.
Rasheed further added there was a need to have a sincere introspection to find out the reasons behind such sick and barbaric mentality that can turn humans worst than the wild beasts.
He said the deceased’s family was running from pillar to post to seek the justice, even awaiting any ex gratia or humanitarian aid from the government.
Rasheed asked for introspection in the society to find out reasons that why it was losing moral values and huge chunk of youth were becoming drug addicts.
Parents, teachers, religious clerics and common masses need to unite and ensure that entire society is made de-addicted from the menace of drugs, he said.
He said the use of drugs not only destroys the personal lives of but was one of the main reasons of increase in crime rate as the involved victims can go to any extend to get money to purchase drugs.
Rasheed offered his full support to police and civil administration.
The public safety act “in its real sense was meant to be imposed against criminals mainly drug addicts and smugglers”, he said.
He further added that all sections of society will be more than happy if those involved in drug trafficking will be taken to task and booked under strict laws.
Rasheed along with constituency in-charge Kupwara Pirzada Firdous Ahmad also visited various places of Kupwara constituency and had interactions with people over different issue.
