CASO initiated by forces in Sopore outskirts

Sopore. July 17: Government forces on Wednesday morning launched a cordon and search operation at Mir Mohallah of Gund Brath Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Reports said that a joint team of Army’s 22 RR, 92 and 179 Battalion of CRPF and SOG of JK police jointly launched a massive search operation in the area and conducted door to door searches.
Reports said that heavy contingent of forces have been deployed in the area and all entry and exit points leads towards Mir Mohalla Gund Brath has been sealed.
Meanwhile, a police officer also confirmed the operation saying that following inputs about the presence of militants in the area the search operation was launched.
However, no any contact was established with the militants yet, he said, adding that search operation in the area is still going on.
