Pulwama: Labour Department in Pulwama said it distributed around Rs 17 crore among the beneficiaries under education and marriage assistance schemes in the last 8 years.
Assistant Labour Commissioner Pulwama Syed Zameer said that in financial years 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15 , 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18 and fiscal 2018-19, financial assistances of Rs 89,8000 among 228 beneficiaries, Rs 10711100 among 1353 beneficiaries, Rs 16036000 among 1772 beneficiaries, Rs 28142000 among 3328 beneficiaries, Rs 17442000 among 1931 beneficiaries, Rs 7633000 among 701 beneficiaries, Rs 26613500 among 2802 beneficiaries and Rs 30519500 among 2925 beneficiaries were distributed respectively.
In all, Rs 13 crore, 71 lakh, 86 thousand and nine hundred rupees were distributed among beneficiaries under different schemes of education in last 8 years.
Pertinently children of registered construction workers’ children studying in class nursery to 5th get Rs 2500 per annum.
While students studying in class 6th to 8th get Rs 3500 per annum, those in class 9th to 10thget Rs 4,500 per annum, and classes 11th and 12th get Rs 6000 per annum.
Likewise, undergraduates get Rs 10,000 per annum and post graduate Regular students get Rs 15,000 per annum.
To pursue Para medical courses and ITI diploma courses students get Rs 10,000 per annum, for 3-year engineering, students gets Rs 30,000 per annum and for professional technical degree in regular mode, the students avail Rs 50,00 per annum under the welfare schemes.
Besides, under marriage assistance scheme in financial years 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16 , 2016-17 and 2017-18, Rs 775000, Rs 7825000, Rs 4575000, 3575000, 5275000, Rs 4350000 and Rs 5250000 was distributed respectively among 31, 288, 157, 131, 185,158 and 192 beneficiaries, the official said.
Pertinently, under the schemes of marriage assistance, the department provides Rs 20,000 as financial assistance for marriage of daughters fulfilling the eligibility condition.
The Assistant Labour Commissioner said there were thousands of registrations pending at present and Department was working on it so that deserving labours get the benefits.
