Mentally challenged person detained

Srinagar: A mentally challenged person from Ganderbal district of central Kashmir has been detained by police in Haryana over ‘suspicious movement’, officials said.
They said that 45-year-old Shabir Ahmad Sheikh son of late Ghulam Hassan from Lar Ganderbal was arrested by police at Sirsa in Haryana. Shabir is said to be relative of former MLA Ishfaq Jabbar, they said.
They said that police in Haryana informed the counterparts in Jammu and Kashmir and they in turn are learnt to have communicated about the mental condition and behavior of Shabir. “He continues to be under arrest,” the sources added. (GNS)
