Hakeem Yaseen calls for united efforts to fructify martyrs’ mission
Srinagar: Chairman PDF, Hakeem Yaseen has said that Kashmiri Muslims have always welcomed Amarnath Yatris wholeheartedly and they were the real people who make such regular religious events successful.
He said it was most unfortunate that stringent curbs have been put on the free movement of same gallant people of Kashmir, on the pretext of security to the Amarnath Yatris.
Speaking to media persons after paying floral tribute to the martyrs of 13 July, 1931 at Martyrs’ Graveyard at the shrine of Naqashband Sahib, Srinagar, Yaseen said that the people of Kashmir were secular and firmly believe in religious coexistence.
“But unfortunately their sincerity is being suspected since last many years,” he said.
He said curbs on the movement of civilian population on national highway were “another example of sheer mistrust against the people of Kashmir”.
Yaseen said restrictions on the movement of civilian population on national highway were taking heavy toll of fruit industry.
Demanding revocation of the restriction orders, Yaseen said that ban on civilian movement on national highway was more detrimental to the state’s economy which is already on ventilator due to prevailing abnormal situation.
He said that the martyrs had laid down their lives for the supreme cause of civilian liberty, a mission which is yet to be achieved.
He urged for united efforts to fight against injustices and oppression meted out to the people so that the dream of martyrs about a peaceful and prosperous state is fructified.
Hakeem Yaseen was accompanied by former minister Ghulam Hassan Mir and CPI (M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami.
