Kashmir Press Club elections: 32 nominations received for elections to various posts

Srinagar: Thirty two candidates have filed their nominations on Saturday, the last day for filing of nominations for the four posts of office bearers and the seven posts of the executive committee of the Kashmir Press Club (KPC), which will hold first ever election on July 15, a handout issued by the club said.
Journalists Haroon Rashid Shah, Shuja-ul-Haq and Zulfikar Majid have filed nominations for the post of President, it said.
Journalists Syed Tajamul Islam, Wasim Khalid and Moazum Muhammad have filed nominations for the post of Vice President, the statement added.
Journalists Riyaz Ahmad Malik, Ishfaq Ahmad Tantry and Hakeem Irfan Rasheed have filed nominations for the General Secretary post, while as Journalists Arshad Rasool and Farooq Javed have filed nominations for the Treasurer’s post.
Journalists Vajeh Ahmad Andrabi, Farooq Wani, Shabir Malik, Irfan Ahmad Qureshi, Mehraj Mir, Shafat Kira, Gowhar Manzoor, Muzaffar Ahmad Khan, Altaf Baba, Gowhar Geelani, Auqib Javeed, Habib Naqash, Nissar Ahmad Bhat, Nazir Ahmad Makhdoomi, Arshad Ahmad Mir, Bilal Furqani, Parvaiz Bukhari, Shams Irfan, Anees Zargar, Firdous Ahmad Dar and Arshad Hussian Shah filed nominations for the seven-member executive body.
The candidates can withdraw nominations up to July 10 by 5 p.m and the elections will be held on July 15 from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m, the statement concluded.
