Traffic jams in Pattan troubling commuters

Pattan: Commuters from north Kashmir have complained of facing a tough time due to continuous traffic Jam at Pattan town of Baramulla district.
Scores of commuters who travel from north Kashmir to Srinagar every day have expressed resentment against the district administration for its carelessness towards the widening of roads and putting alternate arrangements in place to deal with the problem. Passengers from the area also said that the authorities had failed to provide alternate arrangements for the huge population of north Kashmir.
Locals alleged, “Despite having knowledge about the continuous traffic jam nobody is bothered about public sufferings”.
They said that hundreds of vehicles get stranded on daily basis for hours in the traffic jam in the area.
“Ambulances coming from Kupwara and Uri also can be seen trapped in the traffic jam at Pattan town”, they said.
Station House officer Pattan Syed Gazanfar said that they had already deployed “sufficient manpower to regulate the traffic in the main market.
