Srinagar: A group of engineers has demanded issuance of SRO for the “already approved ACP Scheme”, regularization of adhoc promotions on one-time exemption basis and implementation of SRO 42 of 2011 in favour of Junior Engineers.
A delegation of the representatives of State Joint Action Committee of Engineering Graduates Associations (SJAC) demanded the fulfillment of the “commitment made to them by the Governor Satya Pal Malik, during the meet held with him February, 2019 at Rajbhawan Jammu”.
They expressed their displeasure over the alleged callous attitude of the government towards the engineers and demanded that the government to issue the SRO of the already approved ACP scheme at an earliest besides expediting the process of regularization on one time basis on the analogy of education department and implementation of SRO 42 of 2011.
The SJAC delegation headed by the presidents of mechanical and civil wings Firdous Ahmed and Farooq Ahmed respectively, claimed that the plight of engineers is miserable and said that a deliberate mechanism of adhoc / in-charge placement has been adopted in the engineering departments to thrust the bonded labor system upon the engineers, whereby they are asked to relinquish the duties at a higher post but shall be paid the salaries of a lower post.
They claimed that there has never been any expansion / rationalization of engineering cadre which has lead to the enormous stagnation in engineering services which can only be addressed by the mechanism of Assured Career Progression / Time bound promotion system.
They also demanded the correction in pay anomaly, approved by the committee in the year 2009-10. (CNS)
