Four drug peddlers held, contraband, vehicles seized

Sopore: Police in Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district Thursday arrested four drug peddlers from the area and seized contraband and two vehicles from their possession.
Sajad Ahmad Lone son of Ghulam Ahmad Lone and Abdul Majid Lone son of Mohammad Ismail Lone-both residents of Tujjar Shareef Sopore- were arrested during a check point on the national highway near Choora area.
Police also recovered 1.5 kg Charas from the duo’s possession and also seized the vehicle they were traveling in.
At another check point established at railway crossing Amargrah Sopore, Nissar Ahmad Kumar son of Mohammad Ramzan Kumar, a resident of Plan Bandipora and Mohammad Ashraf Bhat son of Late Mohammad Maqbool Bhat of Rebban Sopore were arrested by police and 1.5 kg Charas was also seized from them.
In this regard FIRs under relevant sections of law have been registered and investigation has been taken up.
